Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian Singer and Songwriter. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. She is professionally referred to as Aurora. Her name could also be stylized as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval from music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away from Oasis was released by the group Oasis was recorded to accompany an advertisement of John Lewis, and Nature Boy is an Nat King Cole cover. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memory involves finding a small piano that was in her basement and being fascinated at the sound it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not as work or for a passion and as a way to improve. The singer began to write songs of her own. She began performing her music in public when her mom suggested they might help others not gain acclaim for her work, but instead help those around them see the importance of their work and how they impact the world. She was suggested by her mother to perform her songs publicly to help people realize their importance and the ways they impact the world. It was not until she turned 14 that she told her parents. There was no way she could have imagined to be Aurora. She says she just likes writing music. To her, music is the most effective way to express anything.
